The Valencian technology of fentISS, a subsidiary of the UPV, consolidates its presence in space

The company fentISS, a subsidiary of the Polytechnic University of Valencia, advances in the race to conquer space. Last December, five satellites were placed in orbit, two of which are governed by software from the Valencian company.

One of the satellites was launched into space to study zodiacal light and the Milky Way, while the other was put into orbit as part of a mission to study and protect the environment. Both have the Xtratum hypervisor, technology created by fentISS. Its director, Paco Gómez Molinero, explains in declarations to the SER that this hypervisor is an “enabling technology that allows the development of critical applications, which all run on the same computer but do not interfere with each other”.
