Blockchain, crickets, robots… the future of food that is already on the table

What we will eat or how we will buy in the supermarket in the future are some of the first doubts that assail us as we enter the Foodtech universe. Technology and innovation are changing this traditional industry from its origin -the crops- to its last link -the moment to sink our teeth-. Companies of all sizes are working not only to offer something new or improved, but also out of necessity: as the UN points out, if the world population were to reach 9.6 billion in 2050, it would take the equivalent of almost three planets to provide the natural resources needed to maintain today’s lifestyle. More people, more food production and more pressure on the environment. With the celebration of World Food Day on 16 October, we are collecting initiatives called to transform this industry.
