VLC Photonics, the first successful exit from the UPV’s spin-off programme

Hitachi High-Tech Corporation announced this week the purchase of a majority stake in the Universitat Politécnica de Valencia’s spin-off, VLC Photonics SL (VLC), a company dedicated to integrated photonics circuit engineering, design and testing services. As defined by the Valencian university, this sale is the first successful outcome of its spin-off programme, which began at the beginning of the decade, and is an example of the transfer of high technology from Valencia to the world. We talked about it with Pascual Muñoz, professor at the UPV and leading entrepreneur of the VLC Photonics project.
