Valencia hopes to have a reference digital district in 2022. “It is essential”, said the Councillor for Innovative Development of Economic Sectors and Employment, Pilar Bernabé, in the presentation of the Valencia Tech City Strategic Plan at a meeting with representatives of the organisations that form part of the platform at the headquarters of the Valencia 2007 Consortium.
Bernabé points out that, in order to tackle the challenge of positioning Valencia among the top tech cities in Europe, the platform’s work team has identified the need to generate a large digital, technological and innovation district, and spaces for connection, reflection and debate”, as well as “contacts with entities that may be interested in establishing themselves in Valencia”. These are challenges to which it has added the need to promote technology and knowledge transfer and to attract international technological events, both its own and those of other countries, which situate and make known the city of Valencia.
