iPronics, pioneering technology with a Valencian stamp to democratize photonic chips

ReaSpain is not a country that stands out for its technological contributions to industry at a global level and yet in Valencia there is an oasis where they are seeking to develop pioneering technologies that will mark the future of sectors such as telecommunications. This is the mission set by the company iPronics, a spin-off from the Polytechnic University of Valencia co-founded by Professor of Photonics and Communications José Capmany, who wants to go one step further on a business path that has already begun with VLC Photonics.

Director of the University Institute of Telecommunications and Multimedia Applications (ITEAM), Capmany has allied with Ivana Gasulla and Daniel Pérez to bring to the market a programmable photonic chip that allows ‘democratizing’ this formula by reducing costs, a model that is currently being made specifically for each client. The team is completed by Prometheus Das Mahapatra, researcher at iTEAM; Iñaki Berenguer, telecommunications engineer at the UPV, president of the company and serial entrepreneur and Eladio Crego, as CEO.
