Researchers at the Universidad Politécnica de Valencia (UPV) have developed a new autonomous ultra-cold system (Contenedor Autónomo Ultrafrío-CAU) that allows the transport of vaccines against Covid-19 that require very low temperatures. The system is capable of reaching down to -200 degrees Celsius, using only ambient air as the cooling fluid.
Developed by experts from the Instituto CMT-Motores Térmicos, the Autonomous Ultra-Cold Container-CAU is scalable for all types of chambers, from those in medical-pharmaceutical delivery vans, to industrial coolers, large goods containers or in logistics centres for storage and distribution.
