Valencia among the TOP 60 best European cities in digital entrepreneurship
The European Commission's prestigious ranking, "European Digital City Index", places Valencia among the 60 best cities in Europe for supporting digital entrepreneurship. This ranking describes the different cities in Europe that support digital entrepreneurs, promoting new businesses and their growth, as well as providing information on the strengths and weaknesses of local ecosystems.
Valencia has a large entrepreneurial network thanks to VIT Emprende, which belongs to València Activa, the firm that brings together all the work and enterprise opportunities offered by the City Council of Valencia, with over 600 start-ups that generate 140 million euros in business and around 8,000 direct and indirect jobs; over 30 groups of investors; more than 40 communities of technological knowledge; and multiple co-working spaces. In fact, Valencia is the city with the largest number of start-ups per capita in Spain (0.064%, compared to 0.056% in Barcelona and Bilbao or 0.033% in Madrid) and is the fastest growing entrepreneurial ecosystem in Spain.
The public-private collaboration in Valencia is a key factor for positioning our city. A solid network created between all the city's agents in which the infrastructure of accelerators, incubators, corporations, public and private universities, investment funds, professional colleges and associations, etc. has a very positive influence.
Its accelerators and incubators include Marina de empresas, composed by Edem, Lanzadera and Angels Capital, the American Plug and Play Spain, Innsomnia, GoHub, KMZero, SocialNest, Demium Startups, BioHub, Climate KIC, NoSpoonLab, Zubilabs and Col.lab Las Naves that turn the Valencian entrepreneurial ecosystem into a hotbed of talent and start-up creation.
At present, work is being carried out to transform La Marina de València into an innovation pole by promoting the Innovation District, destined to become an international reference point for the city's innovative and technological ecosystem.
