The Automotive Cluster of the Valencian Community (Avia) has announced that it is working, through the Mobility Innovation Vlc (MiV), on setting up the first autonomous and intelligent 5G industrial park in Europe.
These would be vehicles (AGVs) guided by 5G in real time that would be responsible for collecting the parts from different suppliers and delivering them to the manufacturers, becoming “the first European logistics solution in an industrial park”, stressed Fernando Colón, MiV’s Innovation Advisor. This pilot project would begin in 2021 and is still “in a very early stage”, as Elena Lluch, manager of Avia, has warned. In fact, they are in the first conversations with the Almussafes Town Hall and the Association of Businessmen of Parks and Industrial Areas of Ribera Baixa (APPI).
